Last meeting: Swansea City 1-1 Manchester City (15th of May, 2016).

Swansea City head into this fixture having won just one of their opening five Premier League games of the 2016/17 season (a 1-0 win against Burnley), lost three (against Hull, Leicester and Southampton) and drew one (against Chelsea), giving them a very shaky start to their season. Manchester City on the other hand have made a totally opposite start to the campaign, winning all five of their games so far and looking unstoppable in the process.

The Swans’ haven’t beaten City since the 11th of March, 2012, when a Luke Moore goal gave them a surprising  1-0 win. Since then, City have won 6 of the next 8 meetings between the two and the other two matches ended in a draw.

Swansea will be boosted by the news that full-back Neil Taylor is set to return to the side, alongside record singing Borja Baston and club captain Leon Britton. Manchester City could hand Vincent Kompany his first start of the season as he has recovered from a thigh injury. Midfielder David Silva remains doubtful with a leg injury.

On paper, it looks as though this will be an easy game for Manchester City, but the Swans’ always seem to up their game against bigger opponents, so this really could go either way. Prediction – Swansea City 1-3 Manchester City.

Probable line-ups:
