Blackpool entertain Nottingham Forest on Saturday hoping to ignite a flicker of hope in what has been so far a season of turmoil on and off the pitch.
Rooted the bottom of the league and chaos in the boardroom has lead to manager Lee Clark labelling this game a ‘must-win’ and with the tangerines losing three out of there last four games including a demoralising late 2-1 defeat to league leaders Middlesbrough in midweek, Clark’s comments couldn’t ring more true.
A rejuvenated Forest travel to Bloomfield Road with newfound confidence under the stewardship of their new manager Dougie Freedman who has won his first two games in charge including a comfortable 3-0 victory over a struggling Wigan on Wednesday.
They will however have to do without talismanic striker Brit Assombalonga who is out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury sustained during Wednesday’s win, with Matt Fryatt is expected to deputise for Freedman’s side in what’s expected to be the only change to a settled team.
The home side is expected to make changes with Sheffield Wednesday loanee Gary Madine pushing for the strikers berth after starting on the bench in Tuesday’s defeat, they are however sweating on the fitness of defender Charles Dunne who limped of during that game but manager Clark expects him to be fit.
Nothing less than a win will be expected for Forest even without there top scorer Assombalonga , as they are facing a Blackpool side who are staring down the barrel of the prospect of League 1 football next season. Prediction: Blackpool 0-2 Nottingham Forest
