This Sunday Leicester City take on Everton at the King Power Stadium. Both Leicester and Everton have had poor starts to this Premier League season as Leicester currently sit in 14th position having gained only nine points from nine matches.
Having come from behind to beat Leeds United at home on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup, Leicester will be feeling confident for Sunday’s game. However, Leicester have only won one home game in the Premier League this season, against Brighton and Hove Albion in August.
Leicester have just signed Claude Puel as their new manager, with Michael Appleton remaining as assistant manager. The former Southampton manager Puel has been out of a job since his sacking in June. Leicester will be happy to have a manager sorted before the Everton game as the two sides had identified similar targets since the sacking of Koeman from Everton on Monday.
Puel will be looking to make an immediate impact to his new side by reintroducing Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel, Riyad Mahrez and Danny Simpson, who all sat out of the midweek fixture against Leeds.
Everton have had a diabolical start to the season gaining only eight points from nine matches and sitting in 18th position putting them in the relegation zone above only Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. The blues haven’t won a single away game this season and have only won one of their last eight Premier League matches.
Having sacked manager Ronald Koeman on Monday, Everton are on the hunt for a new manager. U23s coach David Unsworth who is currently acting as a caretaker manager, is hoping to gain the full-time job.
Everton lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Wednesday, but despite the score-line, Everton played some good football and manager Unsworth was proud of the performance of his team. However, given Everton’s recent losing streak, Leicester will be hoping to come away with three points and a comfortable win.
Score Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Everton
