We’re not even into December and already Mo Salah has scored more goals for Liverpool than any other player in each of the last three seasons. It’s safe to say he’s up there for signing of the season, arriving from Roma for what now seems a tiny £37 million, currently leading this year’s goal scoring chart ahead of Kane, Lukaku and Agüero, and from way back in midfield.
Salah has endured a rocky climb to the top, arriving at Chelsea from Basel in 2011, he struggled to get into the starting eleven and ended up in Italy, honing his talents at both Fiorentina and Roma before Liverpool took their chance.
Though Liverpool fans are currently jumping for joy with regards to their swoop for the Egyptian, with such outstanding form, they will be expecting the transfer sharks to begin their gathering. It may be a rather sad part of the modern game; that clubs outside the top five or six in the world cannot enjoy their player’s super form without the talk of said players changing trains at the next available station.
The case of Mo Salah is no different and as The Sun reports, the next station may come sooner rather than later. Former Egyptian legend and close friend of Salah, Mido, believes Real Madrid have already added him to their Christmas wish list though the likeliness of a deal being done in summer may be greater than in Jan.
With countless reports linking Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema with moves away from the Bernabeu in the coming months, Madrid will be growing desperate to secure the future of players such as Salah and will do well to make sure the in form Premier League player of the moment doesn’t slip between their fingers.
