Ravel Morrison has whipped up a frenzy on social media, after the Lazio midfielder followed Aston Villa on Twitter, causing many to believe he may be on his way to Villa Park.
According to reports from the Birmingham Mail, Morrison also tweeted a cryptic message ‘Gone with the wind’, giving the impression the former Manchester United player is once again on the move.
At 23 years of age, the Englishman has played for six different teams, failing to settle and nail down a first-team place. Morrison has only managed six appearances for his current team Lazio since his move from West Ham in July last year.
Morrison has often been criticised for possessing a bad attitude, hindering his playing career, which could have been so very different.
Sir Alex Ferguson once described Morrison as ‘the best talent I’ve ever seen’, but following several off the field incidents, he departed Old Trafford and his career has spiraled downwards ever since.
Many Villa fans took to Twitter to express their views on the potential signing of the 23-year-old, the majority of the reaction seemed to be positive, one person tweeted:
“If RDM can get the most out of Morrison, we may be making the signing of the season!”
It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa are actually interested in signing Morrison, with the new Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo currently reshaping his squad as they prepare for life in the Championship.
