Close, But No Cigar

Close, But No Cigar

This is what comes to mind when Liverpool fans think back to a thrilling yet gut busting game against the Cherries back in December. On the back of an 11 game unbeaten run, Liverpool had gone in at Half time thinking that it would become 12.

So with the game poised for victory for the Reds (at 2-0) Liverpool came out with a seemingly vacant look, clearly thinking about full time celebrations. The rest is history. Bournemouth staged arguably the best comeback this season and ended an unbeaten run that had prompted the supporters to dream about a title charge.

Fast forward 3 months… Liverpool are sitting in the same position (just about) having played at least one more game than their top 4 rivals. The reds need a top 4 finish to make sure that this season is a success and it is in their own hands, looking at their run in.

However these are the sort of teams Liverpool seem to have a problem with. So with Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana out injured it seems that a lot of Liverpool’s creators in chief will miss out.

Although, there is ‘a bright light at the end of the tunnel’, Liverpool have been in quite sparkling form recently (Just Like the Last Time) and their Brazilian Houdini (Coutinho in case you didn’t know) is also weaving his magic again (Just Like the Last time) and Bournemouth are among the highest conceding teams in the league.

So it SHOULD be a textbook job.

Score three goals and become the goalkeeper. A simple game, usually played for fun rather than to produce any winner.
