The Evening Standard are reporting that Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is a target for Carlo Ancelotti at his new side Bayern Munich.
The 30 year old French centre back has played 180 games for the Gunners scoring 15 goals in 6 years, one of them goals being an equilizer in the FA Cup final, helping Arsenal to secure their first trophy in 10 years. Having played every game in Euro 2016 so far for France, helping them to the Final, Koscielny is at the top of his game.
Last season he captained the side in the absence of the now departed and handsome midfielder Mikel Arteta, as well as the injured but brilliant Santi Cazorla. Looking forward to the 2016-17 season, it’s looking more and more likely that Koscielny will be promoted to full club captain.
With the massive German Per Mertesacker losing the little bit of pace he never really had and Gabriel Paulista yet to acclimatise to the Premier League, losing Koscielny would be a massive blow for Wenger.
The likelihood is that if he left the Emirates for the Allianz Arena, he would no longer be top dog and would struggle to split up fellow semi-finalists and centre back partnership of Jerome Boateng and new signing Mats Hummels. But if he did leave the London side, then Arsenal may have to spend big to replace him.
