Having earlier looked at the possibility of Newcastle signing Remy, it now appears Spurs have caught wind of this and are now looking to hijack any move by Toon according to talkSPORT.
The White Van Man radio station suggests that Remy is holding out for a move to Tottenham despite reports suggesting Newcastle boss Alan Pardew had already had a £10 million bid accepted. It appears though that Marseille will be holding out for £15 million due to increased speculation from teams such as West Ham and QPR.
Remy is apparently looking for a move to a big Premier League team and wants to play European football suggesting Tottenham are the only team out of the four who could offer him that. It has to be asked however if Tottenham really need a striker as a priority or would a replacement for Luka Modric or Rafa Van Der Vaart be of more genuine use?
Jermain Defoe is not exactly ‘free scoring’ but he is having a far more convincing season than he has done in a long time. But surely Tottenham’s midfield is surely far more pressing issue?
