Both The Mirror and The Sun are reporting that Demba Ba will be leaving withing the 1st week of the January transfer window. The problem of Demba Ba’s contract is an issue that has been going on for a while now and it appears Newcastle are getting impatient with Ba and are beginning to search for replacements.
According to The Mirror Demba Ba is currently paid £35k per week and a £25k appearance fee and has recently rejected £70k per week contract and is apparently holding out for £80k per week but Mike Ashley appears to be unwilling to go that far.
The Mirror also reckons Newcastle are looking at signing French international Loic Remy who is enduring a tough time at Marseille at the moment. For a price of £10 million Newcastle could be about to sign a potential star in Remy who has shown class in previous seasons which saw him break into the French national side.
The Sun are suggesting that Pardew is a fan of Dynamo Kiev’s Ukrainian striker Artem Milevskiy who could be available for as little as £6 million due to his contact ending in the summer.
His agent Barry O’Connor has suggested “there is plenty of interest from more than one club in England,” but realistically this is a player who could, easily move to a country such as Germany in my opinion.
According to Transfermarkt Milevskiy along with Remy has been struggling for form this season with Milevskiy playing 16 games scoring 0 goals and Remy playing 21 scoring 3 which represent poor records for these two with Remy scoring 24 goals in 50 games last season and Milevskiy scoring 11 in 42 games but assisting 14.
I would prefer if we signed Remy as I believe he is a very good player who will score goals …but Milevskiy also has his advantages and if either can recreate their form from last season, should they sign for Newcastle then we could be looking to move up the tables.
