Man Utd Target £35M Premier League Duo

According to the Daily Express, David Moyes is planning to raid Southampton for English duo Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana. Should Manchester United be aiming to sign players from a mid-table club?

Manchester United and David Moyes have struggled all season, they have never found momentum, they have players who many fans class as mediocre but they have been promised a large summer transfer budget. The only consolidation for the club’s fans is they did win the community shield this season.

Missing out on the Champions League is a huge blow for Manchester United, both financially and for their worldwide reputation. They are also expected to struggle to get some of the worlds greatest players who yearn to play in Europe’s top competition. If the Board of Directors at Old Trafford decide to stick with ‘The Chosen One’, then David Moyes has picked out Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana as his high priority targets this summer.

Luke Shaw would be a direct replacement for club legend Patrice Evra, who’s contract runs out this summer and is expected to leave the club in the same fashion that Nemanja Vidic will for Inter Milan on July 1st.

The young English left-back who is now an international and has performed immaculately all season paving the way for Ashley Cole to miss out of this Summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Shaw is expected to provide direct back up for former Manchester United target and Everton player Leighton Baines.

At only 18, Luke Shaw will only get better and Manchester United will face competition from Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea who, according to several sources, is Shaw’s boyhood favoured team. Shaw’s team mate, is 25 year old Adam Lallana has also been linked with a move to the Lancashire club.

The playmaker has played so well this season that he has broken into the England team and is seen as a target for all of Europes top clubs. Lallana seems a more realistic choice for Manchester United target but it does make Red Devil fans wonder who is leaving the club as United already have a team full of attacking midfielders and wingers.

Nani, Zaha, Kagawa, Young and Cleverley all have there futures to fight for. Sounds from the Stretford End suggest that Nani and Zaha need to be given a chance, Kagawa is good enough and Young and Cleverley do not deserve to be playing for the most valuable sports team in the world.

Antonio Valencia and Juan Mata will be the only two players guaranteed to be at Manchester United next season. Valencia has been the only winger who has played well in every single game and Juan Mata has lifted the club since his arrival in January. Lallana has the passion and would suit the attacking play Manchester United have played since Mata’s arrival.

To many Manchester United fans dismay, Ryan Giggs may retire this season. Under Moyes, Giggs has denied any rift but has admitted to not playing as much football as he would have liked.

This was proof, when the 40 year old was the best player against Olympiakos in the Champions League earlier in the year. Adam Lallana can play in the role Giggs has made his own since changing his game and could be worth the buy.

Many people would assume that it would not be a good idea to fix a poor Manchester United side with players from a team that will finish mid table every season.

They would expect Moyes to be aiming to bring in players that play Champions League football every single season, however, Shaw and Lallana are two of the best players at Southampton, they are young enough to become world-class and they also will also suit a club that prefers to bring in English players.

The only thing for certain this summer is that Manchester United will be linked with many players, many players are expected to leave in a major overhaul of the squad and it would be very interesting to see what Manchester United do with an enormous budget.

It is uncertain whether it will be done with David Moyes though.

More gibberish. Stupid story makes no sense. Shaw signed a five year contract last year and saints have said they will not sell. Even if they were willing why on earth would they agree a price ahead of the World Cup when his ‘value’ could rocket further. Complete nonsense.

Neither he nor Lallana will be leaving Saints in the summer.

As for United buying from a ‘mid table club’ that is what United are now thanks to Fergusons mismanagement towards the end of his reign.
