It is being heavily reported that takeover talks at Leeds United will finish on Thursday, with a decision being made either way. Leeds United fans will be holding their breathe that the outcome will be a positive one.
Leeds United fans flocked to social media site Twitter after a Journalist based in the Middle East had assured on radio that talks between prospective owners and Bates had now ended and a decision was forthcoming this week.
Fans began to inundate Ben Jacobs about the information he had managed to gather and how it could help Leeds fans gain clarity on the situation. Mr Jacobs was more than generous in replying to fans about the information he had gathered. Mr Jacobs went on to explain that suggested buyers from Bahrain were open about their approach but not in the eyes of the media as they still remain secretive.
Mr Jacobs reassured fans that the deal was not over but that a decision was set to be made, be it negative or positive. Fans then began to speculate, reading between the lines of what Mr Jacobs had disclosed. He sympathised with each and every Leeds United fan, suggesting that the current ownership is in fact poorly managed. However, he went on to say he did not know whether gaining new owners that liked to keep things hush hush was the right way to go, although he did imply they were incredibly wealthy but again gave no indication that they would be spending their own personal fortune.
Message boards began to pick up on the information and now it seems that Thursday is Leeds United’s very own deadline day. Will Leeds United be stuck with the ever so lovable Ken Bates? Or will new owners take charge at Elland Road, giving Neil Warnock a possibility of exploiting the loan market?
It is going to be a nail biting 48 hours for Leeds United fans, with many already admitting defeat to the fact that the takeover has took so long that a deal could never be struck between Ken Bates and any possible takeover party.
