More question marks over Andre Villas-Boas’ methods have been raised. Tottenham’s Moussa Dembele has been seen exiting a training session, ahead of an International match for Beligium’s penultimate World Cup qualification match away to Croatia on Friday.
This photo shows the player unable to put any weight on his left ankle which is appears to be heavily strapped up.
The suggestion is that the injury is related to an injury he sustained against Tromso last month, in the Europa league.
So the question has to be, has AVB really thought this one through?
Despite spending over £100m in the last window, Dembele played in all five of Tottenham’s games. subsequent to the Tromos one. If there has been any squad rotation, then why has Moussa Dembele not benefited from it?
AVB is known to be a big fan of the Europa League, but given the grueling demands of that competition, it is farcical that such an important player such as Dembele is “burnt out” in the process of pursuing it.
Especially in light of the greatly improved bench that Tottenham now boast. Let’s hope the injury isn’t serious and for the rest of the campaign(s) AVB exercises more caution.
