Roberto Mancini will want to put rumours that he faces the sack should he lose to Leeds in today’s FA fifth round tie, by delivering a convincing victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Mancini’s men are likely to be without Vincent Kompany who has failed to recover from a calf injury, but Carlos Tevez and Matija Nastasic could return.
The Citizens will be keen to put an end to a terrible run of form that seen them without a win from their previous three games.
It would appear that the FA Cup remains City’s only realistic chance of silverware this year and Mancini’s future as manager could rest upon whether he delivers the trophy or not. With that in mind expect the Italian to field a full strength side.
Leeds on the other hand will hope that victory over City will give them a boost towards their Premier League ambitions. Neil Warnock is expected to start Jamie Ashdown ahead of Paddy Kenny in goal for Leeds, whilst Stephen Warnock and Steve Morison could be in line to make their debuts.
Despite the enormous pressure placed upon Mancini, City will go into the game heavy favourites and should record the convincing win that the manager needs.
