Tottenham travel to Leeds United in the fourth round of the F.A Cup looking to avoid an upset. Spurs are in good form ahead of their visit to Elland Road and are unbeaten in their last eight games. They easily dispatched lower league opposition in round three after crushing Coventry 3-0 at White Hart Lane.
Leeds are also in fine form having only lost one of their last eight games at Elland road, and this promises to be a close encounter. Neil Warnock will have one eye on getting promotion from the Championship but will field a full-strength side as they look to cause a shock. The only dilemma for the Leeds boss is whether to start with Luciano Becchio who has handed in a transfer request and is a transfer target for Premier League Wigan.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-boas will also continue his philosophy of playing full-strength sides in the Cup by fielding most of the team that played in the epic 1-1 draw with Manchester United last Sunday. Spurs are boosted by the news that William Gallas and Jan Vertonghen are both back to full fitness, and both players may have a role to play against Leeds.
In terms of how this tie is likely to go, it would not be a shock to see the home side hold Spurs to a draw and a replay at White Hart Lane. However, it is important to bear in mind that even with a roaring atmosphere and fully charged players at Leeds, sometimes it is not enough when faced with Premier League quality. Although they have beaten Premier League opposition in the form of Southampton in the Capital One Cup, they came unstuck against Chelsea who crushed them 4-1 at home.
Spurs are fighting strong on three fronts this season, and although Champions League qualification is the priority, I expect Spurs to have enough quality to see off Championship Leeds.
