Liverpool are looking to continue their rejuvenation and push further up the Premier League table during the second half of the season with another high profile signing. The addition of Daniel Sturridge to the Anfield outfit seems to have been a very productive signing, as he has instantly made an impact and looks as if he has an understanding with Luis Suarez.
Philippe Coutinho could offer even more flair to a side that is not short of youthful talent. It seems that a bid from Liverpool for the Brazilian Under-21 international is imminent.
Coutinho is a slight, speedy playmaker and like many Brazilians he has a eye for flair. The number 7 has proven during his spell at Inter and on loan at Espanyol that he can unlock defences with intricate passing and get on the score sheet himself.
Liverpool will be hoping he can adapt to Premier League football as well as his national team mate, and Chelsea midfielder, Oscar who is also just a young man at 21. If Coutinho can adjust to the English way, (and become accustomed to the snowy climate) he could be a very useful asset for Brendan Rogers in the remainder of the season, and beyond.
The likes of Sterling, Shelvey and Wisdom all under 21, have been given plenty of playing time this season. It seems that Rogers is keen to bring through some younger talent, looking at players whom he can use to build a top side for the future.
Though he has fallen out of favour at Internazionale, the 20 year old Brazilian Coutinho will cost around £10,000, a sum that Rogers will be offering in the coming days. However he is a player that has time on his side, with many years to grow into the potential he was tipped for when Inter first secured his services as a fresh faced 18 year old.
